Tervetuloa SIGCHI Finlandin kevätseminaariin torstaina 19.5. klo 12:00-16:30! Tämän vuoden kevätseminaarin teema on ”HCI-koulutus Suomessa – oppimistapauksista mahdollisuuksiin”. Tapahtuma järjestetään verkossa Zoomin kautta ja se on ilmainen sekä avoin kaikille aiheesta kiinnostuneille.

Tilaisuuden kieli on osaksi suomi ja osaksi englanti. Esityksen kieli on merkitty ohjelmaan (FI/ENG).

Welcome to the SIGCHI Finland Spring Seminar on Thursday 19.5. at 12:00-16:30! This year’s Spring Seminar theme is, ”HCI education in Finland – from cases to opportunities”. The event is organised online via Zoom and is free to everyone interested in the field.

Please note that the seminar will be held partly in Finnish and partly in English. The session language is marked in the program (ENG/FI).

Panelist Tatyana Aromaa

Tatyana Aromaa

Tatyana Aromaa, Senior Service Designer at Digitalist

Tatyana is a Senior Service Designer based in Helsinki, Finland. She works with various industries on projects related to Service Innovation and Business Design.
Her career goes from Software Engineering to Service Design with a strong focus on collaboration and co-creation with people. Tatyana believes that the understanding of a holistic ecosystem in the process is critical in her work to create a synergy between people and businesses.

Paulina Becerril, Program Manager User Experience

My name is Paulina Becerril. I hold a master’s in human-technology interaction from Tampere University, Finland (2021) and a B.Sc. in industrial design from Tec de Monterrey, Mexico (2015). Since I graduated from my bachelor’s I have hold different positions in UX and design operations in Mexico, the U.S.A., Finland, and now in Germany. Currently, I am UX program manager working in Berlin, Germany. Before this position, I conducted UX research at KONE, where I also completed my master’s thesis and several peer-reviewed publications on extended reality. I am passionate about improving processes using human-centered design.

Karishma Jain, Product Designer at Smartly.io and Doctoral Student (part-time) at Aalto University

I am a curious, self-driven product designer who is passionate about emerging technologies, social good, advocating UX design across all fields of work, facilitating design education, bridging diverse communities, and being a role model for women and designers looking to grow in their careers. Also, a doctoral Candidate in Department of Computer Science under Professor Marko Nieminen at Aalto University. My research focuses on human-centric design for digital services in smart cities and always up for a conversation on Edtech solutions.

Dominique Lemmi

Dominique Lemmi, User researcher at Userlytics 

Background in International business specialized in Logistics. Worked as project manager in Logistics. Transitioned career to User Research and in to do so went back to study. Graduated from Information technology and pursued a Master Degree in Human Technology Interaction at Tampere University. Previously worked as User researcher in Human Robot Interaction and at Kone in R&D as user researcher. Currently working as a User researcher at Userlytics.

Sumita Sharma

Sumita Sharma, Postdoctoral researcher at University of Oulu

Sumita Sharma is a postdoc researcher in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) with a focus on empowerment, inclusion, and accessibility using interactive and novel technologies for and with children and underserved user groups. She has worked on designing and evaluating technology for underserved communities, including children living in the remote regions of Northern Siberia, children with autism and other developmental disabilities, children living in urban slums in India, and low-literate women in Guwahati, India. From 2020, she is working on short-term and long-term participatory studies on critical design and making with children in schools in Oulu, Finland, including In her postdoc project on Participatory AI with Schoolchildren, funded by the Academy of Finland (https://interact.oulu.fi/paiz).

Raino Vastamäki

Raino Vastamäki, UX Research Director, Eficode

Raino Vastamäki is a psychologist specialized in UX and has over 20 years of experience in consumer and user research. Raino leads Eficode’s UX and accessibility team, and has been responsible for hundreds of different service and product usability and accessibility developments. The projects have included the development of all types of digital services including online banks, online stores, applications, IT-systems and games as well as physical products, such as smartphones, automats, machines and devices.
